Writing Workshops

write with ali!

As a prolific journal writer, Ali W. Rothrock has seen life-changing benefits from the simple habit of journaling each day and the process of publishing autobiographical work. Join her in this writing workshop where she will teach participants how to build the same practice in their life and benefit from writing their own life story. This workshop will teach participants how to establish themselves on the page and will explore how doing so can provide an always-accessible place to express and deepen personal resilience.

The pages of my 106 journals are many things to me now. They are artifacts; relics of both time that has passed and evidence of a person who has evolved. They are simultaneously a time capsule and a continuing narrative. They are my legacy. And I want you to have the opportunity for the same. Together, with the tools we discover in this workshop, we are going to write your life story, your history, and your legacy. You are going to create your own body of work and write yourself to a new place.

what to expect

The workshop is for anyone interested in growing and developing the skill of autobiographical writing no matter their level of prior experience.

Each class will feature a new theme presented by Ali, discussion about corresponding readings from Where Hope Lives and/or After Trauma to be completed outside of the workshop, and writing prompts, also to be completed outside of the workshop. During each session, participants will have the option to share their own work and engage in discussion with the group. After the workshop finishes, Ali will give participants individualized feedback and writing prompts to continue on with their writing practice and growth as an autobiographical writer.

The first few series of the workshops have concluded. Email aliwrothrock@gmail.com to be notified when we launch our next session!

The cost to participate is $250 per person. Each participant will receive a copy of Ali’s two books, Where Hope Lives and After Trauma.
